MTHS students, teachers learn how to fight back against an armed intruder

Students file outside Metamora Township High School earlier this month.  It was part of a mock shooter exercise. MTHS has adopted the ALiCE technique, which is a proactive approach designed to interrupt a violent intruder’s decision making and ability to shoot accurately. 

On Wednesday, September 5, sometime during seventh hour, students at Metamora Township High School were made aware of an armed intruder in the building.  A voice came over the intercom system with information of the location of the intruder, where they were heading and what they were wearing.
