WCHS hosts ‘Unified Game’ with Canton to promote special needs inclusion, unity

The WCHS Panthers and Canton Little Giants partnered together to hold the “Unified Game” this past Friday, January 18. The game was a joint effort between the teams to feature players with and without special needs playing alongside each other in a game focusing on the spirit of inclusion and unity. (Above) Zach Davis, a coach for the Unified team, helps Trevor Kalke shoot a basket while warming up before the game.

With fists raised and huddled together, 12 WCHS basketball players listened as their coaches for the night told them to play hard and have fun. It’s the same huddle the boys’ varsity team does after every timeout, but for this team, it was much more than an ordinary part of a routine game.
