The Morton Chamber of Commerce wants to gather new Morton residents and employees at Morton businesses by bringing them together to engage, learn and experience the fun and unique people and places Morton has to offer through a new program called “Morton Meet Up”. The first Morton Meet Up will be on February 25 at Kemp 208, 208 N. Main Street from 5:30 – 7 p.m. and is sponsored by Better Banks.
Moving to a new community or starting a new job can oftentimes be difficult. Learning to navigate a new town’s processes, working with strangers, and just learning where you should go for your morning coffee can be daunting. To offer an opportunity for people newer to the area to get acquainted with the community, its members and businesses, the Chamber has developed a new program called “Morton Meet Ups”. Each event will be a fun experience showcasing a local business owner and hopefully generate some new connections among attendees.
“These Meet Ups will be gatherings to experience Morton and engage with a business owner while meeting others that live, work and visit Morton,” says Leigh Ann Brown, Executive Director for the Morton Chamber of Commerce.
At the first Morton Meet Up, Chef Jeff Madden at Kemp 208 will host one of his engaging, interactive and educational cooking sessions and will provide dinner for attendees. Tickets are $25 per person and are available for purchase on mortonchamber.org, via phone at (309) 263-2491, or at the Chamber office at 415 W. Jefferson Street.
The Morton Chamber of Commerce is a member-based, non-profit organization with a mission to strengthen business and enhance the community through promoting businesses, connecting businesses to valuable resources, and building opportunities for community development.
