The GEMS Girls Science Club will meet Tuesday, February 18, at 4 p.m. in the Morton Public Library. Girls in fourth through seventh grade will hear from the Morton High School math team on how they challenge themselves with new mathematical concepts and work collaboratively to solve challenging problems. Registration is now open on the library’s website.

GEMS is supported by the Morton Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) in partnership with Morton Public Library. AAUW is the oldest women’s organization in the United States. It advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.  Membership is open to any graduate with an associate or equivalent degree or higher. The next AAUW meeting will be held February 11, 2020, at Morton Public Library and will feature a presentation by Nikki Romain on ART, Inc. on how they are working to change the face of Peoria by making Peoria an arts destination.
