Morton School District 709 held its annual District Spelling Bee at the Bertha Frank on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. The district’s top 12 spellers competed on stage for the title of the District Spelling Bee Champion.
“All of the spelling bee contestants were met with challenging words and each student should be proud of their accomplishment,” said Spelling Bee Coordinator and Morton Junior High School teacher, Mrs. Jaclyn Herr. “Making it to the district level is not an easy feat and it is an honor to be named among the district’s top 12 spellers.”
The Morton School District is honored to announce that Lindsey Bradford from Lettie Brown Elementary School was named the District’s Spelling Bee Champion and Max Bennett from Ward Grundy Elementary School was named the District’s Spelling Bee Runner-Up.
Finalist Lindsey Bradford will go on to compete in the Regional Spelling Bee Friday, February 21, 2020, at 9 a.m. in the Bertha Frank Performing Arts Center in Morton.
