Everyone has a little artistic streak hidden away. Sometimes we just need help letting it out – and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will offer that help at a “Canvas & Cocktails” event May 19, 2023.
The ALPLM and the Springfield Art Association are teaming up to provide materials and inspiration for the evening of artistic fun.
The art association will supply several images to stimulate budding artists, all of them tied to the museum's newest exhibit, "Here I Have Lived: Home in Illinois." Choose from Springfield images, such as the Lincoln home and the Dana-Thomas House, or renowned paintings like “Christina’s World” and “American Gothic.”
Whatever the image, you'll receive expert, one-on-one help from an instructor from the art association throughout the evening as you create your very own "masterpiece."
Complimentary snacks will be provided, and beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase. No outside food or drinks will be allowed.
Doors open at 6 p.m. The event – perfect for a date night or an evening with friends – begins at 6:30 p.m. and lasts two hours. The cost is $35 per person.
