Raymond William “Bill” Wilson, 81, of Washington, IL, passed away at 4:52 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2020, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on June 27, 1938, to James and Siota (Bean) Wilson in Monroe, MI. He married Donna Jean Sandifer on September 12, 1959, in Cumberland Gap, TN.
Surviving are his wife Donna of Washington; one daughter, Darlene (Jeff) Payne of East Peoria, IL; two sons, Keith (Tina) Wilson of Low Point, and Matt (Jill) Wilson of Winston Salem, NC. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His parents, one grandson, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Bill worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He was a faithful member and Deacon at Bayview Baptist Church in Washington for 51 years. Bill was a devoted husband, father and papah. He enjoyed many things in life including fishing, gardening, golfing, helping his son Keith in his cabinetry business, but especially spending time with his family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Bayview Baptist Church in Washington with Pastor Keith Thibo officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service also on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
