Gary D. Springer

Gary Dean Springer, 73, of Eureka, IL went to be with his Heavenly Father on the wings of angels on July 22, 2019. He passed away from cardiac complications at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born March 10, 1946 to Roy and Pearl (Keller) Springer. He married 

Ginger Sides on Sept. 20, 1964 in Trenton, GA.

Surviving are his wife along with their three children: Christine (Glenn) Miller of Carlock, IL; Ed Springer of Kentucky; and Stacy (William) Anderson, of Bartonville, IL. Also surviving are six grandsons, four step-grandsons, six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by six sisters and two brothers: Sandi Aeschleman of Roanoke, IL; Roy (Susie) Springer of Coos Bay, OR; Flossie (Tony) Ferrero; Kathy (John) Nutt and Sharon Seckle, all of Roanoke, IL; Keith (Gwen) Springer of Pueblo, CO; Rita (Bruce) Sauder, Germantown Hills, IL.; and Andrea (Brian) Bill of Eureka, IL.

Gary graduated from Roanoke High School in 1964. He retired in 1999 from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Morton after 30 years of service. He later worked at the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington and The Library Store in Tremont.

Gary and Ginger enjoyed traveling to different churches to encourage and support pastors and missionaries. They were incorporated as Redeeming the Time Ministries. They were Door Keepers at The Gathering Place at Mackinaw Dells Prayer and Retreat Center for almost 10 years. He had a passion for sharing God‘s love and goodness with others. He was involved in the donation and shipment of supplies to Tanzania.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for noon on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Congerville City Hall, 300 E. Lincoln St. in Congerville.  A memorial visitation will be two hours prior to his service, also at the Congerville City Hall.
