Joyce Ann Aberle, 84, of Washington, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Washington Senior Living.
She was born on October 22, 1938, in Arcola, a daughter of Forest Lavern and Sara Lucille (Sanderson) Foreman. She married Harold “Gene” Aberle on July 15, 1956. He survives.
Joyce is also survived by her daughter, Terri (Aberle) Moore; son, Bradley (Lisa) Aberle; sister, Beverly (Foreman) Miller; grandchildren, Alicia Potter, Dustin Aberle, Shelby (Matt) Martin, Torie (Tyler) Ferguson; and one great-granddaughter, Tinley Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Margaret (Rich) Aberle; son-in-law, Brian Moore; brother-in-law, David Miller; sister and brother-in-law, Connie (Aberle) and Jim Burton; and great-grandson, Alex Campen.
Joyce was a long-time employee of Don’s Pharmacy and Washington Grade School, and was co-owner of The Closet Dress Shop. She was a member of Bayview Church. She volunteered for six years at Proctor Hospital.
She enjoyed many years with her husband at their winter home in Florida. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, including performing solos and duets. She was known for her optimism and positive attitude.
There will be no services or visitation at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason White Funeral Home in Washington.
