Morton Premier Soccer Club hosted the Pumpkin Classic September 20-22, 2019 at McClallen Park. The event is a large undertaking and there are many people/groups we would like to recognize that made that weekend run as smoothly as it did.

First and foremost, we want to thank our community for its patience and support this past weekend.  We understand that traffic and parking were a little more hectic in town than normal because of this event.  Thank you to our "park neighbors" on Rhode Island/Newport and Pennsylvania Ave for your patience in allowing overflow parking in your neighborhoods.  Thank you, Morton United Methodist Church, for allowing MPSC the use of your parking lot. We want to thank Morton High School and Grace Church for allowing the off-site shuttle parking to and from the tournament. These parking locations were key to lessening our parking issues this year.  We would like to thank the Morton Auxiliary Police and Pinnacle Security who put in many hours this weekend at our tournament and were extremely helpful at directing traffic, handling parking or responding to issues of bigger concern.

We also want to thank our Park District.  Brian Hochstettler and his staff put in many hours making sure the facility at McClallen Park was ready for our tournament weekend.  The park looked wonderful.  We would also like to thank our Park District Superintendent and Director Holly Olden and Joel Dickerson who were in direct communications the entire weekend with MPSC to guide us through the weather issues that we had on and off during the weekend.  We had minimal disruption to our game schedule due to their diligence. The McClallen facility was labeled by many visitors as one of the best facilities in Central Illinois.  We couldn't agree more.

We had many generous sponsors from our local area and local "donations in kind" this past weekend that we would like to recognize for their support of MPSC.   Our sponsors/donors this season included...

Within Morton Premier, there are many people to thank. Our tournament committee worked diligently in preparation for the event. Our parents really turned out this year volunteering even for extra shifts and made the event go very smoothly the entire weekend.  MPSC Coaches- your dedication to the development of these players and passion for the sport shows.  Our players were prepared and our teams had a great weekend.   Players- thank you for your efforts and sportsmanship this weekend. We saw lots of hustling, talking and team work on our fields.  Off the field, we also saw many players contributing their time as volunteers or helping their parents who were volunteering this weekend too. We are so very proud of these teams - on and off the field!

Finally, we would like to extend the biggest thank you and kudos to our tournament co-directors Kristina Klein and Tracy Meeks. They have worked tirelessly over the last 6 months organizing and planning this event.  Without their vision, efforts and attention to detail this event would not have run as smoothly.  We could not have done it without them.

We look forward to providing this wonderful event next year for this community and its families.

Respectfully submitted,
