Washington Community High School is getting ready for the second season of IHSA boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, the latest sport added to the high school’s athletics. This includes Metamora and Eureka High School kids as the co-op between all schools allow those kids to participate. Now is the time for youth boys and girls to learn all about the sport of lacrosse. Join in any, or all, of the following opportunities that will introduce boys and girls to the sport.

A Washington Lacrosse Club Clinic will be held Wednesday, February 19, for parents and potential boy/girl players in kindergarten through eighth grade. The clinic will be held at the Washington Park District gym, 105 Spruce Street, from 6:30-8 p.m. Parents will learn about the program, and boys and girls will get a chance to get a lacrosse stick in their hands and learn about the sport. No registration is needed and there are no fees.

Registration is now open for the Washington Park District’s Washington Lacrosse Club. Indoor practices begin the last week of February (EC Sluggers), outdoor practices begin the first week of April (Oak Ridge Park). Register by February 21, to receive the new player discount. Ages include Boys U8, U10, U12 and U14; Girls fourth and under and fifth-eighth.
