CIS country country

Last Friday morning, the Washington Fire Department and Police Department helped Central Intermediate School celebrate the girls' cross-country IESA 2A State Championship with a parade around the school grounds.  The team won the IESA 2A State Championship on Saturday, October 16, finishing well ahead of second placed Tolono Unity as CIS scored 43 points to Tolono Unity’s 126. Sophia Ramirez finished first for CIS with a time of 11:57, earning third place. Tori Aberle placed seventh, Hannah Miller placed eighth and Maddie James placed tenth. Olivia Miklik and Caylie Ahten earned 26th and 27th, respectively. Bailey Butler finished 38th. Chloe Biscontine, Avery Strubhar, and Elli Aberle were alternates for the team. To celebrate, students from the primary and intermediate buildings, along with parents, gathered outside for the parade to cheer the team’s success while the firetruck passed by with the girls and coaches riding on top. After the parade, the school administration held an outdoor assembly to further celebrate the runners' accomplishment.
