WMS girls' basketball

The Washington Middle Schools girls’ seventh- and eighth-grade basketball teams hosted the Pekin Broadmoor Bruins on Monday, October 18.  The seventh-grade game was close through three quarters until the Panthers were able to pull away in the fourth and closing with an 18-8 win. For the eighth-grade game, it was all Panthers as WMS led 18-2 after the first quarter and extended their lead the rest of the game.  In the final minutes of the game, WMS Coach Durchholz and the WMS players demonstrated a wonderful moment of sportsmanship as Broadmoor’s number 44 scored their team’s last two points of the game.  The Panther’s won with a final score 50-7.
