Washington Panther's beat Dunlap 24-7

The Panthers’ Varsity Football team hosted the Dunlap Eagles Friday night at Babcook Field for a Mid-Illini Conference game.  Dunlap got on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a Washington fumble recovery and run in for a touchdown. In less than a minute, the Panthers responded with a 63-yard QB keeper by Jake Stewart to make it 7-7.  Washington added a field goal early in the second quarter and scored another touchdown with just five seconds left in the half to lead 17-7.  Early in the third quarter, the Panthers’ RB Kainon McQueary had a touchdown run.  Mitch Coughlon kicked the extra point. Neither team scored during the fourth quarter as Washington won 24-7.  Washington improved to an overall record of 4-3 and sole second place in the Mid-Illini (4-1).  With two regular season games remaining against Canton and Morton, one more win would mean Washington is playoff eligible while two wins would ensure a post season game. (Pictured) Washington’s Jase Harlan pursues and tackles Dunlap’s Logan Mason in the fourth quarter.
