The Metamora Flames recently won the Fourth of July Explosion at Eastside Center over the Fourth of July weekend. The girls battled tough temperatures and even tougher teams to go 6-0 on the weekend. The girls beat the Midwest Sting, Jets 06 twice, Central Illinois Blitz and the East Peoria Express to make it to the championship game where they beat the Bloomington Angels 11-1. The girls have had a terrific season so far, going 25-1 and winning the Monster Mash; placing second in the Hampton Inn Shootout; winning the Battle of the Borders; winning the 14U National Qualifier; and winning the Fourth of July Explosion.
