Homecoming is more than a current high school fall event as alumni from the Washington Community High School Class of 1979 will gather to laugh, reminisce, reflect and perhaps pull a prank or two. Together they will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their graduation on September 28, 2019 from 6:30-11:30 p.m. at Five Points in Washington, with a casual evening of drinks, hors d'oeuvres, desserts and conversation.
While not all of the ’79 graduates are driving hover-cars, many are behind the wheel of a hybrid. And although hardly anyone has actually been able to "beam me up, Scotty", space travel is as easy as looking at the smart phone to Face Time a grandchild. And promoting this event is a combination of local newspaper, Facebook, community websites and email (WaCoHiClassof1979@gmail.com).
Class President Max Clary created a Facebook group, Washington Community High School -- Class of '79, which has an event listed and a link to buy tickets ($15/person). Or tickets can be purchased directly at www.eventbrite.com (search for WaCoHi Class of 1979 Reunion).
The further the years from the May 25, 1979 commencement, the greater the value of time everyone can spend together. So, make plans to "Raise your Stein to the Class of '79!".
