One-man band Kickin’ & Pickin’ to play at Five Point Washington

Kickin’ & Pickin’, a one-man band performing rock and bluegrass music, will perform July 24 as part of Five Points Fridays, a series of free outdoor acoustic concerts held at Five Points Washington.

Kyle Rhoney of Bloomington performs as Kickin’ & Pickin’ and presents an array of folk, rock and bluegrass music. He presents an eclectic blend of tunes on an assortment of instruments, including acoustic guitar, harmonicas, foot-drums and kazoo along with powerful, high-energy vocals.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, and the performance begins at 6 p.m . The concert will be held adjacent to the new Five Points Washington outdoor patio area and adjacent parking lot area, located on the south end of the facility. Papa Murphy’s Pizza and Kona Ice of Peoria will have food available for purchase. A cash bar also will be available.

In addition, Art at The Bodega will have an area setup during the early portion of the event where children can complete a craft project for a nominal cost.

All performances in the Five Points Fridays series are free and open to the public; tickets are not required but, for planning purposes, attendees are encouraged to indicate they will attend in the individual Facebook event listings on the Live at Five Points Facebook page. Masks are not required by attendees as long as social distancing can be maintained. Limited seating and tables will be provided while adhering to social distancing guidelines, but attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
