Washington Township continues road improvement projects

Washington Township road crews have been out in full force improving local road conditions this summer. Township crew members (above) worked through the high temps while refinishing the blacktop with fresh asphalt throughout School Street in this photo taken on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Other repaved roads include Hollands Grove Ln, Hollands Grove Rd, Windridge Dr, Seaton Ln and the Saddle Brook subdivision. Hollands Grove Ln improvements also included replaced storm sewers and catch basins. According to Washington Township Highway Commissioner Scott Weaver, further road improvement plans include tar-and-chipping Guth, Dieble and Bittersweet roads. Weaver also noted that Morton, Metamora and Cincinnati townships helped in the work to rebuild E. Cruger Rd, which involved crews roto-tilling and repaving with recycled asphalt shingles.
