Eureka Public Library closed for Memorial Day
The Eureka Public Library, 202 S. Main, will be closed Saturday, May 27 and Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day. The library will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30. For more information, call the library at 309-467-2922.
Kick-Off Party for 2023 Summer Reading Program
Join the library for this year’s Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party on Thursday, June 1 from 4 – 6 p.m. Stop by and enjoy live music from Freight Train Mike, tasty treats, games, face painting, prizes, and more. This is a free program on the library lawn and in the outdoor pavilion. It is open to all ages and no registration is required. Feel free to bring a lawn chair for a comfy place to sit and enjoy the evening. In the event of rain, the event will be held on Tuesday, June 6. Tiny Art Contest
Patrons of all ages are invited to participate in the library’s First Annual Tiny Art Contest. To enter, simply register at the adult circulation desk starting June 1 and pick up a Tiny Art Kit, including a tiny canvas, entry form, and guidelines. Participants will use the kit to show what this year’s Summer Reading theme of “Dive into Reading” means to them. Artwork may be dropped off at the adult circulation desk anytime the library is open. Entries will be due back at the library before 5 p.m. on Friday, July 14. Artwork will be on display at the library for a Tiny Art Show from July 17 – 31. Community members will vote on their favorites during this time and winners will be announced by Friday, August 4.
